From collegiate baseball player to CrossFitter, this active guy fully understood the importance of rehab after shoulder surgery. From the moment Matt walked through Iron PT’s doors, he never stopped working hard (and singing along to the music)!

Never one to sit still, he was sure to stay active — even participating in the CrossFit Open’s adaptive athlete category (the closest he could get within surgical guidelines)! Watch for Matt as he gets stronger and stronger…and his locks get longer and longer! Click here to discover more about how we treat sports injuries at Iron.

In Matt’s Own Words…

1) What Brought You Into Physical Therapy?

I had surgery in December to repair a right labrum shoulder injury.

2) Any advice for other athletes who are recovering from an injury like yours?

Recovering from an injury doesn’t happen overnight. However, consistent effort brings results. My progress thus far as been the product of executing a comprehensive rehabilitation protocol at Iron PT coupled with a customized fitness program.

3) What accomplishment in physical therapy are you most proud of?

I’m most proud of being able to clean a barbell again.

4) What activities are you most excited about getting back to?

It will be great to exercise without limitations. I’ve learned a lot from time at Iron PT. I will most definitely spend more time doing work on mobility, strengthening stabilizing muscles and fixing imbalances.
